DILUTE COLOR OF SEAL RAGDOLLS
Genotype: BB/dd OR Bb/dd OR Bb’/dad
Blue - Both parents pass the B gene AND they pass a b or a b’ gene PLUS BOTH parents pass along the dd (homogeneous recessive dilute gene) to their kitten
The Seal gene is the dominant color to Chocolate and Cinnamon. That means if your kitten has a B gene from one or both parents and they have a b and/or a b’ gene they will have the appearance of Seal. In order to be Blue, both parents need to pass along the dilute (d) gene necessary to become blue. The dilute gene from both parents soften the Seal color to a Blue.
Genotypes: BB/dd (homogeneous Seal gene & homogeneous recessive dilute gene), Bb//dd (Heterogeneous Seal carrying chocolate & homogeneous recessive dilute gene), Bb’(Heterogeneous Seal carrying cinnamon & homogeneous recessive dilute gene)
Phenotype: Blue
